City of Melbourne Grant

Zines, Zines, Zines

In the start of 2022 we were excited to receive a grant from the city of Melbourne for the publishing of a series of zines. This was a great opportunity to engage a number of local Melbourne artists to create a series of amazing zines. These zines were printed in Riso and inkjet on a wide range of topics including: historical photos, mental health, tattoo flash book, humour, local melbourne landscapes, covid, growing up and moving on.

It has been a rough couple of years and it was great to slowly get back into printing and curating exhibitions. As well as being grateful for the grant it was an amazing experience being in Campbell arcade for the last 2 and a half years. Sadly we had to leave in April, but we’re looking forward to finding a new space soon.

Zine and Exhibition Launches

We had several launches at our two gallery spaces in Campbell arcade. Below you can see photos of our Red Exhibition at which we launched Emerald Bridge by Luke Rion, Consent is Sexy by Stacy Gougoulis and Flinders St Station - a tribute zine to our home of the past 2 and a half years.

The exhibition stayed up for 6 weeks up until the closure of the arcade.

We also sold our zines at several fairs including Festival of the Photocopier, the NGV Art Bookfair, Whitehorse Zinefair and Homecooked. We’ll also be selling our zines later in the year at Hallozeen at Mission to Seafarers on the 30th of October.
